the reason this isn't okay but circumcision is  is the same reason why women don't have to sign up for draft.

What about those who have religious or health reasons for doing it?  Besides, it hurts a hell of a lot less to have it as a baby than an adult, lol.

Religious reasons? Well, it's wrong to press religion on young children anyway.
Health reasons? If someone *needs* it to live, then yes.

It can result in death through severe bleeding leading to haemorrhagic shock, neurogenic shock as a result of pain and trauma, and severe, overwhelming infection and septicaemia. It is routinely traumatic. Many girls enter a state of shock induced by the severe pain, psychological trauma and exhaustion from screaming.

Let me tell you my situation.  My parents are Jewish, but not strictly so.  They believe that I can make whatever choice I want in my religion.  I am currently atheist.  However, when I was younger, I went to a Jewish religious school.  Not because my parents wanted me Jewish, but because they wanted me to have knowledge of a religion, if only for the experience.  They could have easily sent me to a Christian school for the same reasons.  In a way, this ties into circumcision.  If I had decided later in life to become Jewish, it would have been far more painful to get circumcised.  

Just to add in, I think that your opinion of it being a barbaric practice is somewhat narrow-minded.  Its only the unfortunate 1% who have problems, and usually that is because of some crappy fake doctor.

Both of those are bogus, especially when compared to the absolutely awful and disgusting medial and mental effects it has. There are no actual health reasons apart from negative ones, and the religious practice is a confusion according to the site.

What effects?  As far as I know, the risk is less than 1%.  And just about every medical procedure has risk, most with more than just the meager 1%.  Also, circumcision has been practiced for thousands of years.  Doesn't seem to have done much to hurt our population to me.
