Having trouble in German with die, das, and der. In a translate thing they all mean "the," but how do I tell which one to use? I have looked it up on Google but it didn't help.

HAHA YOU SAID KOCK

Just say them all at once.

Nouns have a gender, and you just have to know it. Most feminine ones do end in an "e", however.

For example, the word for "man" is masculine:
der Herr

And, the word for "woman", feminine:
die Frau

Those are predictable ones, but there are ones you just have to know:
das Zimmer (the room)
die Zeit (the time)
die Fahne (the flag)
das Buch (the book)
der Stuhl (the stool)
