Author Topic: Version 20... Where are you!?  (Read 4381 times)

Whenever someone makes a thread about the upcoming version, Badspot bumps the release date back a month for the luls.

Anywho, I can only hope that whatever he's doing is more or less a simple update.

I don't see what Blockland 2 could have that Blockland wouldn't. Other than perhaps a new engine.

Yea thats about it, but its kind of a big deal - all of the add-ons you couldn't make, lighting, etc.
It will never happen though - way too much work down the drain.

I guess after years of hard work finally perfecting Blockland it's time to trash it and start working on Blockland 2.
Tell me, why would he spend 5+ years working on a game just to scrap it and make a sequel that will probably not have the old feel/look to it?

Plus, it will spin up a bunch of boy cotters and arguments.

Notice how much I emphasized how hard he worked on it.

Blockland on another engine besides Torque just wouldn't be the same.

It could be on a updated version, of Torque.

No, he used to work at Garage Games, but now this is his only source of income.
Blockland does not seem like a profitable buisness, since he only makes about $40 a day.

We're at "Blockland 19", why should we jump down to Blockland 2?

LIEZ! We're talking about a new game here.

I asked Badspot if he would ever change Blockland's game engine... He said no because it would be a waste. And his answer to upgrading Torque to a newer version was "No, Torque sucks." ;P He speaks the truth... the only cool part about Torque is that it gives Blockland a unique style.

What could he possibly add?
I have noticed that almost nothing suggested gets added. Probably because all of the ideas we give him are stupid in his face.

More performance fixes?
Improved graphics?
More default add-ons?
More noob-proofing?

This whole time I've been sarcastic.

Whats the point of wanting v20, enjoy the game as it is, like normal games, COD games don't have updates at least on the edition you're playing. Also, the fact that you want it so bad is sort of insulting to Badspot, it's like asking for ketchup in China, it makes the chef feel like his meal wasn't good. What if v20 had only bug fixes? OK, so v15 had some good stuff, so did v11, but yeah v18-19 wait was well, short and all (my friend updated when he was at my house, he slept over, then updated again the next morning!) but still, you guys are going to be waiting and discussing till it comes, then you'll do the same for v21, 22, etc. So your outcome is discussing more than playing, leaving a pointless updating system to monitor your playing time, not really cool.

Well Blockland is missing some stuff... Like more default bricks. I don't like building with player made bricks, they just don't feel right and there are way to much brick packs on RTB. Whenever you download one another pack has the same bricks + some extra bricks the first one didn't have.

Ingame addon maker?
