Author Topic: Gauging possible intrest in my RP mod...  (Read 739 times)

Many months ago I started work on this mod.
I more or less forgot about it for a while, yet it has survived until today.
It is an rp mod kinda like 'Rise of Blockland' or cityrp with infinite mining woven in, it'd be hosted on a desert slate map, most likely.
There are basic "jobs" which you can play the role of:
miner (generally all jobs require mining atm, and nothing stops them from mining, also, you can't really "sell" ore very well, at least, there's no official meathod)
brick maker
item smith
vehicle smith
power dealer
(farmer/baker) - soon to be

Basically, upon getting in the server, you should try to find an open area of land (unlike cityrp or rob there really isn't an organized 'grid' so to speak) and you buy a lot. To buy a lot, you use the command "/buyland". It takes two arguments, the x and y size of the lot. A good starting size is 20 by 20, which is actually enough to fit a 32x32 baseplate on. (the units for size don't seem to be relative to anything) So to do so, you'd type "/buyland 20 20". And it'd take 20*20 dollar away from you. (400)

Now, to build you need supplies, to get supplies you buy bricks/mats (one is the term from cityrp, the other from rob). A "brick maker" mines clay ore (pink) and types "/getore clay <number>" and then for each ore item, "/craftbricks". As the make more, they get more out of each clay ore. The default amount is 15 bricks/mats per clay ore. There are special "mat" selling bricks that come preevented with a "onactivate->self->sellmats" event and a default set price of 10$ each. To change the price you go into the events and simply change the value in the field.

To get a weapon or an item, you need to buy one from an item smith, item smiths mine copper and iron ore and would type "/getore iron 2" and "/getore copper 2" to get those ore items, then "/craftitem <itemname>" that they want to make. To get a vehicle, the process is similar, except you'd change "copper" to "bauxite". Currently all "recipes" are fixed, but I might change the crafting system to make certain items/vehicle have different requirements. Also, you must be standing on a "smithing" plate to craft. Smithing plates, bank bricks, and mat selling bricks don't require admin to plant, but do require you have the money to get a lot and to build the brick in question. There are "sellitem" and "sellvehicle" events, with two arguments, the item/vehicle and how much to sell it for.

Lastly, power dealers mine coal, and type "/getore coal <amount>" to get coal ore items and then for each one type "/makepower" to make power, like brick/material making, you get more as you do it, the default is 6 "power notes" (units of power) per ore. They then can send a request to sell it by typing "/power <lotid> <cost> <amount>". Each power unit/note can power all lights and emitters on a lot for five minutes. If the lot does not have power, you can not add lights or emitters to bricks, when power runs out on a lot, all lights and emitters are shut off.

Also:
"/buylight" lets you use the player's light, and costs 25$
"/thislot" get's the lot id of the lot you're standing on
"/pg" gives you a free pickaxe
"/askmoney" tells you how much money you have
Food based jobs along with a hunger mod are coming soon.

Basically, would anyone come to my server to try out this mod if I hosted it?
Also, suggestions please.

Yay!

I might would try it.
Not likely that I would stay too long, as this sort of thing is not so fun to me.
But, I'd probably come.

This is what people need, I used to host a city RP, but with out lot's in stuff it just did not work, also can you make food events for it like the old one.

This is what people need.
No one needs anything related to this game.

No one needs anything related to this game.
"Need" is relative, quite obviously.
"Need" isn't consistently utilized in fatal contexts.
He just meant, "need" as in, to enjoy a mod better than current cityrp.

I know that.
I was being a smart ass again.

We're running a public test for a bit right now.
EDIT: Test ended, six people joined, server was up for maybe an hour, everything went 'well'.

It is really fun, compared to other cityrpgs, and this might not even be considered a cityrpg, more like an industrial cityrpg. The awesome thing is is that it is hard to make guns so that it won't turn into a dm.
overall awesome mod, could use some chat effects, and an inventory command, but otherwise one of the better mods out there.
