I never understood the plot line for HL.

I don't know why. I guess it's too complex for me?
hl1 has no plot, blueshift and hl2 kinda sorta gave it one.
you're a scientist dude, you push a crystal into some machine that's being overclocked or some crap, stuff forgets up, then you shoot a satellite into space to stop it or something and then go kill a giant flying baby for some reason

Brilliant.

The only thing that bothers me are the Combine masks.

...what

Half-Life had a plot, the end basically screamed "Sequel"

Everyone who thinks HL/HL2 doesn't have a plot is stupid.

HL: Aliens invade.
HL2: Combine invade.

Done deal.

Black Mesa is a research facility working on portal technology (competing against Aperture Science, but that story doesn't really come in until Episode 2/Portal) and things go wrong and their portal opens up to an alien planet and they are all invading.

I read on something the transition to HL2 is that the combine are an alien super race and they use the portal to go to earth and enslave it/research it

HL: Aliens invade.
HL2: Combine invade.

The video was cool, I was really dissapointed to find they didn't even have headcrab zombies though :\
Going into Ravenholm from Black Mesa, you think they wouldn't have changed that

Is this the actual movie or a trailer?

I love how the combine mask eyelights turned red when they died

that should be in the game

they could have picked a much better game to do a fan movie of.

Tetris would be the stuff

I like how it was all overdramatic at the end when he dropped a grenade.
You know, the same kind of grenade that failed to injure him just a few minutes earlier despite standing right next to one.
The whole thing was just a hurricane of cliches.

It's not there.
