Alright, so my dad got his tax papers yesterday, and will be getting his income tax money within a week, and he promised to buy me a new computer, :D.

But the thing is, i don't even know where to start to buy a computer.I don't know whats good and whats bad.

I'm looking for a computer that can run most, if not every game in the market right now.

My price range is $0-$2000, so i'm hoping that i can get a really good gaming computer.

So, any thoughts forum?

well i'm on the computer alot, but i don't really know what goes on inside, i can name a few parts,but that's just the basic stuff.

that's what i was hoping for, thanks soviet, looks like a good computer

Building one is cheaper, and you can usually get one for better that way.

True, but he doesn't know much about computers so it would be easier for him to buy one. But for $2000 you'd be getting a really good computer if you built it yourself.

Stop listening to people who say get the i7 950.

They're either handicapped or haven't looked at new computer hardware in over a month.

Get the i7 2500.

Not the 2600, it's almost another 100 dollars for only 1Mhz more speed.

my laptop has the i7 720. quad2.2
i would happily have paid just 100 dollars more if it could have been a quad3.2

I've looked at plenty of computer hardware, and I am fully aware of the new products out. The original poster has already implied that he will not be able to build a computer, so I just looked for a pre-built gaming computer. The computer I supplied for him is more then fine. It is very powerful and will be able to handle any game he throws at it. That's what he wanted, that's what he got.

You're not being very helpful just saying, "Get the i7 2500". Yeah, you need more then a CPU to have a running computer if you didn't know. If you can find a more powerful, and stable system that runs some of the new sandy bridge products, then please post it.
