The United Kingdom would surely lose, because there are a total of 35 countires and over 900,000,000 people living in America. What an unfair fight. However, maybe a United Kingdom VS. United States fight would be more fair?

Lurn2history. In addition to leading the Industrial Revolution, England had the largest empire the world has ever seen, spanning over a quarter of the world's land area. The phrase "The sun never set on the British Empire" was actually true.

America refers to the United States. Now if he had said something about North America or South America vs Britain you may have made more sense

Don't loving tell me to "lurn2" something. Currently, the Overseas Territories of Britain are not part of the United Kingdom itself, so they don't count toward population or area.

America is the same as saying Americas, which refers to both North and South continents. It's laziness and unwillingness to find an actual name for U.S. Citizens that makes people call them "Americans."

god bless america

land that i love

stand beside her

and guide her

through the night with a light from above

through the mountains,

through the prairies

through the oceans

white with foam

No Edit: Just to be fair, "America" can't use Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, or others to its pop. or area.

You think that because America is a word in North America and South America, American and America have any relation to them. You couldn't be more wrong. American was a word created to mean people from the United States, and America is nothing more than short word for United States of America. American only means people from the United States. There is no implied meaning that we are the only people of North America and South America, but we are the only Americans, and by Americans we mean people from the United States. We don't have to create a new word for us because some people are too stupid to grasp this.

Why would it be "short" for the United States of America? The reason they call it that is because it is a country comprised of many states formed into one, and they are within the landmasses of North and South America, which together they are called America or the Americas. It really does not make sense to call the country the same thing that the two continents are called when viewed together! I may be ignoring what this loving world calls this nation, but at least I'm being logical about it.

Well actually both continents together is The Americas, also there isn't any reason people would ever use the word America except to refer to the United States of America, as each content has its own name that is used, North America and South America. It is actually illogical to have a word for both continents, I mean there isn't a word to refer to Europe and Africa at the same time, when you want to talk about both you just say both.

Here is what would be logical:
North America refers to North America
America refers to United States of America
American refers to people from United States
South America refers to South America
Canadian refers to someone Canadian
Mexican refers to someone Mexican

Ugh, how people go around with these titles I have no idea. I just think that specifically referring to the United States of America when saying "America" is erroneous.

Well its right so your thought is wrong

If past empires meant half of what you think they do in the modern day, Italy would have been a competent ally during WWII.

Ohai guys.
