Author Topic: How to delete U3 from a flash drive.  (Read 1391 times)

I'm so loving sick of U3, it's just annoying and pointless, I've tried formatting the flash drive and deleting the system folder for U3 friendry and nothing works, any ideas?

Same with mine. I gave up, but if anyone else can suggest a way to stop it, it'd be appreciated...

If it stays after being fotmated, I'm afraid it might be hard coded into some separate part of the unit...

or you could go into the settings of U3. There's an uninstall button somewhere in there.

I'm pretty sure that's only for removing it from the computer it installs. Not the drive that installs it.

U3?

SanDisk USB Drives have this crappy launchpad program on them that launches in whatever you plug it into. Not even formatting the drive clears it out.

There is also this alternative if you want to replace the launchpad.

U3 Tool (http://u3-tool.sourceforge.net/) is an open-source management tool (for Windows and Linux) that allows the locked U3 partition to be removed or replaced with any ISO image.
