So, im getting a Laptop or a desktop and I need to know if these are good enough specs to run LFD2, Garry's Mod, and possibly Black Ops.

i7 Procceser 6-8G of Ram 8gb GTX 460 500wat +PSU BlueRayDrive 700GB HardDrive

If anything else is needed please post what it is and a possible link below.

Only get a laptop if you absolutely need one, otherwise you're just going to be spending a lot more money for the same performance.

6GB of ram is plenty, you'll never use the 8. Only thing that I worry about is the power supply, to me it looks a little low wattage. Though my knowledge of power supplies isn't that great, if anyone who knows more thinks it's fine than say so.

i7? 6-8 gb of ram? Nvidea GTX 460? Dude that is WAY to extreme

nop

That is way too extreme if you just want to play those games.

CPU and mobo

Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT (You can play Black ops and source games maxed out.)

RAM

HDD

Windows 7 home premium

This computer case has room for upgrade in the future.

And that is a budget gaming PC, that will still do well in todays world. Unless you have 1,000 + dollars to spend, get these parts.

I'll add more later. 500 PSU is good for the ones I selected, and a 500 GB hard drive is more than you can use up, and if you do for some mystical reason, buy another one.

In case you are not sure, here is Black Ops with the 9800 Gt, maxed out.

Bump for him to see that you do not need a top of the line PC to run source games and stuff.

Do you not know how to build computers? Laptop RAM won't work with that motherboard, as it is not a LAPTOP. You also added an overpriced case and hardrive. $125 for a 500gb harddrive, really? That graphics card is almost outdated and you can get a much better one for that price.

I'll build one in a sec.

I'm new at this :c

Sorry for not being a computer god, no reason to flame me. And the 9800 GT can run the games he wanted at max, you don't need a GTX 460 for those. It would be good for the future, but, if you are sticking to source games and CoD, then 9800 GT.

I fixed the RAM, like I said, I am new at this stuff.

9800GT can't run relatively anything at max. He won't need 8GB of RAM as he won't be doing any rendering.

I have a 9800GT, an EVGA 1gb version, and I can run Half-Life 2 on max with 200 FPS, and GTA4 on max with 30.

The only reason I get low fps on GGTA 4 is because of my Pentium processor.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about tbh.
I mainly want a computer for black ops

How much are you willing to spend?
