Author Topic: Help removing stylized text from an image.  (Read 3948 times)

At BioShock Wiki, we're creating a separate site theme for BioShock Infinite. One of the things we need is a new logo for the top. EDlTOR, our top imagery person, created a logo... but I didn't really like it. He didn't remove the "INFINITE" from the logo, he just layered another image over it and wrote "WIKI" in the wrong font.

I ask of the more talented users to help me remove the "INFINITE" from the below image while maintaining the background silver. Upon inspection it, seems the metal has a circular set of cuts coming out of the center, with that shine I'm sure you see. That must be preserved as best as you can. The image size will later be reduced, but don't take that as excuse for quick-work.

The second one is to show the original lighting only.

EDIT: Done?

Are you kidding?

It looks good.

Regardless of others.

Now shut up and do it.

That's very nice! I bet it will be smaller than that anyways, so even harder to notice.

It's not like you'll really notice anything wrong with it when there's text over it and it's scaled down.

Well yes, but being a strong BioShock fan means cleanliness is key. peacon7, you're doing a good job. I'd rather have the texture with the circular lines preserved, but I'm not sure I'll be able to do that, nor anyone else have the attention span to, so I might just accept yours.

On another note, can anyone identify the exact font used on that part of the logo? With the other BioShock games, I eventually found more evidence to the "Welcome to Rapture" sign using Andes or a retail version. Maybe in line with those?

Welcome to Rapture

pecon7 hasn't posted in a few days, at least where I look... What happened?

Wow, that's great. Now all we need is an expert on fonts to identify the original and we'll be set. :)

its like broadway but with sans serif and a bit thinner

You can say that about other fonts though... :panda:

Even snot doesn't have an exact answer...

Who made it in the first place? Could you ask them?

I think the font miiight be Times New Roman

Actually I think it might be ariel, or helvetica.

One of the three.

I'm kidding of course.
