Author Topic: My Moms Anti-war logic  (Read 2819 times)

Ok, so i got TF2 around christmas time, but I did not get it without a very long argument with my hippie mom.  She thinks that war in video games are pointless and stupid, and that if stupid political leaders did not create armies there would be no wars.  Though true, it would be a 24/7 apocolyptic nuclear warfare, countries being destroyed and blown up every second of the day.  So she says, "well if they did not use nuclear energy for warfare there would be no devastation".  I told her that she was anti-war, and I was pro-war.  Although I am only 14 years old, I am highly skilled in using guns, knives, and hand-to-hand combat.  I love to do stuff like that and also play war games, but my Mom said I was getting influenced by my youth pastor because he lets his 5 year old son play BC2 and Black ops, but does not let him watch veggie tales because of the music!  I know he has alot of flawed logic but he has a positive impact on my life, anyway;  there was a youth rally at my church friday.  and it was entitled "Call To Duty" with a backround picture of the front cover of BC2.  My Mom saw it and banned me from playing TF2 for no aparent reason, she said that she would get anything in her power for me just for me to not play that game.  But her budgit is very small because my 82 year old dad died of a perferated colon on Dec. 27 2010.  SO anyway, she is not going to accept me playing ANY game with guns, weapons, or war.  I need help knowing what to say to her.

It's logic. Not Lodgic.
Try being helpful for once, Titanium.
Edit:
Although I am only 14 years old, I am highly skilled in using guns, knives, and hand-to-hand combat.
Being good at Call of Duty does not entitle you to say this. It's a video game.
Video Games =/= Real life

I was pro-war.  Although I am only 14 years old, I am highly skilled in using guns, knives, and hand-to-hand combat.

Where exactly did you learn this? And who pronounced you a warrior all of the sudden? Although games do help with hand-eye coordination I doubt you are skilled. I second myself, shooting a gun is hard and straining. Let alone hit a perfect target requires training.

Better not let her see you play Blockland.

Better not let her see you play Blockland.

Thats why I asked for help.

And who pronounced you a warrior all of the sudden? Although games do help with hand-eye coordination I doubt you ares killed. I second myself, shooting a gun is hard and straining. Let alone hit a perfect target requires training.

I can shoot a low claiber hand gun fairly well, I am good at hand to hand combat, and the majority of the time I  play outside instead of playing video games.

I don't play COD, I play outside. I don't even own a single cal of duty game, the only full war games I own are TF2 and Medal of honor heroes for the PSP.

play dead space,
watch her wrath as a spirit as she chokes you until 5 minutes after you have aleady died

How old is your mom exactly? 68 is a strange age to bare children.

How old is your mom exactly? 82 is a strange age to bare children.
seems thats why the OP is mentaly deficient
82 is not the age you should be having children at at all

skilled in using guns
shooting a dollar store dart gun at a fence in your backyard does not qualify you as skilled
knives,
cutting bread with your swiss army knife doesnt qualify you either
and hand-to-hand combat.
accidentally hitting a kid in the arm in 3rd grade doesnt count either
