Author Topic: Posting Files in comments  (Read 923 times)

How exactly do you post things such as add-ons on the forums? Not as the original topic author or anything, bug just commenting? Dragging and dropping the file doesn't work, neither does attaching it, as .zip's, etc don't attach. Help? :3

cool. I don't want to try mediafire, the ads, etc. Any way to do it with dropbox? If not, i'll go with mediafire.

I use DropBox. Place the file that you want to have in your comment/topic in your Dropbox public folder. Basically find your DropBox folder, and inside will be a public folder. Put it there. Now, right click on it and find the option that says, "Copy Public Link." Click it and it will copy the URL address for people to download. Because the links are somewhat long, I strongly recommend making an account on "bit.ly" That way you can shorten the length of the URL.

Why do you need to shorten it? That just seems silly. It's not like a long link is going to kill us all. And you can always just use URL tags.

Hm. I agree. it's not like you're writing down the link.

I know, I use URL tags ALL the time. I just assumed that he didn't know how to use it.
