Author Topic: Buffer Overrun?  (Read 832 times)

I keep getting this crash error every time I try to load any save file over ~1500-2000 bricks. I've restarted Blockland several times and even done a fresh install, keeping add-ons, but all the add-ons I have neither conflict with each other nor cause problems with the game. It doesn't just happen on Plate 3, it's also happened in Bedroom. I started a game in Bedroom and loaded two things, one was Ephialtes' Cottage build, the other was A.T.C. Fort. Ephi's build has around 1500 bricks while A.T.C. Fort has over 6500. Another thing I noticed while both saves were loading was that I experienced horrendous lag during the loading process, but when it had finished loading, the lag instantly disappeared. Same thing happened when clearing the bricks; extreme lag during clearing, none at all afterwards.

I would attach my console log but it seems I began the console trace way too early in the game because its size is over 82 MB. If a console log is required, I can get one and only start it right before I load a save.

i think this means too many datablocks, or did for when loading addons

In V8, V9 buffer overruns were usually cause of an add-on.

Okay what the hell, why is my console log over 35,000 KB? I'll upload it to MediaFire, but I just tried to open it in Notepad and it wouldn't open because it's so huge.

console.log

WARNING: The file size is >34 MB.

Edit: Upon closer inspection, it looks like System_Ability is causing the problem.  I can't seem to find this add-on to confirm.

One of the following packages:
[fireRelayNum]
[Event_Minigame]
[MinigameSpawn]
[Event_onVehicleTouch]
[CreeperPackage]
[syjddbasic]

Appears to cause infinite recursion in the serverCmdAddEvent function

I'd guess its one of the last two because I have all others and they work fine.

Send me System_Ability.zip

Also the reason why your console log is > 35mb is because jvs_content is handicapped.  I have discussed this problem with trader and he does not seem concerned.

Send me System_Ability.zip

Actually, I'm just going to fail it.

Actually, I'm just going to fail it.

I sent you a PM containing a download to it, as well as a topic describing the same issue I'm having. I'm going to delete it and try again with loading a save.

*add-ons
i think

Upon deleting System_Ability.zip and having another try at loading what I was trying to load the first time, it works fine, and with no lag. Thanks for the help guys.
