Author Topic: AfterBlock - Blockland Desktop Program [UPDATE 1.2 RELEASED]  (Read 40681 times)

Indeed it isn't the most memory efficient, but AfterBlock has only just been released and these are early days still. Comparing it to a program thats been developed by many programmers over many years (which doesn't even do the same job as AfterBlock) is pretty deluded.
You're probably not going to get much better memory use. That's the problem with Game Maker: it's an interpreted scripting language so you are limited to how memory efficient Game Maker is.

The first thing I noticed about this software was that it didn't find my Blockland. :c  You should make it also check Program Files and Program Files(x86) for Blockland.  That way it doesn't just check the C:\ directory

I am an idiot, it just asked me where the Blockland installation was.  Forget the above, it did not happen :P

It checks Program files regardless of the drive letter. I wasn't aware there was such a thing as Program Files(x86) though so I'll add that in the future.

Blockland is 32 bit, so it goes into x86

So wait, its C:/x86  or what? I don't get it.

New idea: color set maker as an app. It really shouldn't be too different from the brick factory app to be impossible.

Hell no. We have enough stuffty colorsets without making it easy for people to spend even less effort on them.

If you guys are getting an error, probably because the Data folder is outside of the afterblock folder.

Put the data folder in it

C:/ProgramFiles(x86) I think... Haven't had to look there in a while though.

AfterBlock Version 1.0 PC Edition

You should probably rename it to Windows Edition since it isn't for a specific computer type (personal computer) but rather, for a specific operating system.

PS. Macs are PCs too.

The term "PC" is not exclusively used for "personal computer" in the ICT world anymore.

But anyway, I'm pretty sure I can't run it under Linux (not counting Wine, etc).

drive:\Program Files (x86)\Blockland
but isn't it usually
drive:\Blockland

I think that Program Files (x86) is only default when using english windows xp professional x64.
I'm not completely sure though.

The Programs File X86 is just like the normal one, except it holds different things. I have it and I'm using Windows 7. Don"t worry about it, I doubt that anything will happen to it.

P.S. Apparently the internet has run out of IPv4 addresses. O_O

ADD: Also, Steath PM me or IRC me. I got a surprise to show you.
