Author Topic: evolution  (Read 14534 times)

i got tired of wasting my time debating when i could be doing better things, like, legos/minecraft/blockland/etc.

really

so your beliefs are less important than legos/minecraft/blockland/etc?

What you're saying doesn't make sense, evolution has nothing do with how life started

Quote
1. Change over time; history of nature; any sequence of events in nature.

2. Changes in the frequencies of alleles in the gene pool of a population.

3. Limited common descent: the idea that particular groups of organisms have descended from
a common ancestor.

4. The  mechanisms  responsible for the  change  required to  produce  limited  descent  with
modification; chiefly natural selection acting on random variations or mutations.

5. Universal common  descent: the  idea  that  all organisms have descended from a  single
common ancestor.

6. Blind watchmaker  thesis: the  idea  that  all  organisms have descended from common
ancestors through unguided, unintelligent, purposeless,  material  processes such as natural
selection acting on random variations or mutations;  the  idea  that the Darwinian mechanism
of natural selection acting on random variation, and other similarly naturalistic mechanisms,
completely  suffice to explain  the  origin of  novel  biological  forms and  the appearance of
design in complex organisms.

Copypasta

Which one are you referring to?

None of those say how life started

o: Woaaahhh, long topic is long.

Its not a surprise since you made it centered around a controversial subject.

There is nothing controversial about evolution

one is the one who makes it controversial

i dont think that came out right

As if anyone who's opinion here matters.

Thousands of scientists that have committed their life to studying life on this planet have accept evolution as one of the most likely theories about how species got here and variated from past species. I would like to think that thousands of years of experimental studies cannot be dismissed by the cattle herding people that wrote the Bible.

There is nothing controversial about evolution

In itself, maybe not.

But when mentioned on a public forum with known followers of religious faiths which oppose it, possibly.

too lazy to see if this was already posted or not

In itself, maybe not.

But when mentioned on a public forum with known idiots who don't realize that science is fact and religion is wrong if it disputes science, possibly.

that still doesnt make evolution controversial
