None of those say how life started

I'm asking you which evolution you are referring to?

well, religion was created by early man to explain the phenomenon that was happening around them

they didn't what the sun was, what weather was, what anything was or how it got there. all they knew is that they were there. why were they there? well, the best reason they could come up with was that some divine force put them there. and that storms indicated that it was angry, bad things meant it was angry, and good things meant it was pleased

this all evolved into religion over time.

now religion is basically the human way to escape the horrible things in life. with the simple idea that being good means you will be rewarded with eternal life and luxuries in the afterlife. this is a basis for several hundred religions that have sprout about throughout time. it gives theist a reason to be violent towards other theists and atheists, a reason to hate, and a reason to discriminate.

it uses fear to encourage people to gain members. for example, in a christian's eyes if you don't believe in God, you will burn for eternity in a pit of fire and anguish. would you want to burn in hell? no? well then you're probably going to join this religion

take a look at the crusades. religion influenced those christian men to invade and attempt to kill those muslims. all for what they believed. look at 9/11, those islamic terrorists did that because they though it was right in the eyes of allah

i think we could really do well without a god or any religion

also, theists in this thread are probably going to skim over this and just say ignore it

solid, one cannot approach brainwashed people like that

you have to explain it to them slowly
progressively
step by step
so they can figure it out on their own
through logic

I'm asking you which evolution you are referring to?
don't ask questions you know the answer to

I respect you if you believe in a god, or have faith in something.

But if you don't believe in evolution, you are truly mentally disabled. If evolution isn't true, then something very, very similar exists. There has been to much evidence for evolution for it all to be dismissed as a hoax or an elaborate conspiracy.

Many things in science are viewed as true even though they are still "theories". After all, Gravity was viewed as a theory for a long time.

But if you don't believe in evolution, you are truly mentally disabled.
Not necessarily. You could be simply incredibly misguided since a young age.
Which is the most common case.
Right?

True, but if you can't think for yourself once you are an adult; there is something very wrong.

Arguing against evolution is like wearing a giant sign on your back that reads "ignorant".
I don't care who your god is, even if he is real, I'm sure he would consider it a disgrace for his creation to be so blind and stupid. Wouldn't a god want you to marvel at his creation, to discover it for what it's worth? Now, I'm not saying a god exists, I also can not disprove it. I can however assure you no god is omnipotent. And I can say with utmost certainty that no god intentionally put you on this planet. Whether you like it or not, you are the result of billions of years of chemical processes. Though certainly not the end result; you will be recycled as everything else is.

No matter how much praying you do, no matter how many times you go to church, no matter which religion you place your beliefs in, you will not be saved from anything. You are the amalgamation of an immense number of complex processes and systems. Your consciousness is what comes from the brains systematic pattern recognition, sequential based memory and sequential based recall, coupled with terrabytes of processing power and the brains ability to feedback raw information from storage to brown townyze again and again, making slight changes, thus imagination and creativity emerge. You are not conscious because an imagined deity made you that way. It was no gift from god, but rather a gift of evolution.

True, but if you can't think for yourself once you are an adult; there is something very wrong.
Being brought up told convoluted bullstuff makes it hard to relearn things.

I don't thing anyone really cares about my opinion, don't really know if it falls under Evolution or Creationism but here it is.

In every religion their "God(s)" come flying down from the sky, Now what do we see today that comes from the sky? That's right, UFOs, Aliens, Extra-terrestrials.

I read this entire topic and got no mention of that. Unless I'm thinking about this topic wrong, this should be included.

I watched a show on the History Channel about that. It talked about the possibly of ancient cultures being visited by aliens. It was pretty interesting, even if you don't believe it. (Not saying I do.)
