No. It'll end in 1-2 weeks. Take Tylenol or any kind of pain medicine and it should work.

It goes away in a few days. I had to experience it too and could eat nothing but ice cream. But on the bright side, the pain means that it is shifting your teeth around to get them straightened. When you go back, the orthodontist is likely to check your braces, teeth, and your mouth to see they are going as planned. Then they tighten the wire on your braces for them to hurt for another few days. As the cycle continues, it hurts less and less meaning your teeth will be pretty much straight.
