Author Topic: That damn S symbol.  (Read 19782 times)

forget these things
They invaded my elementary as well.

WHERE DID THEY COME FROM

I think this is what it originated from. Three years ago when I was in Primary school my friends drew these and called them Suzuki S's. So I looked them up and their logo looks faintly like one.

=

?

Could this be the origin?

Sure they look similar, but not enough to be the source IMO. If it is the source, it could be someone's stylized drawing of the logo.

But we will never know...

But we will never know...
Whatever, a kid drew this once, and now everybody's drawing it, since it's easy and ''cool''.

I remember drawing these in elementary school.  Back then, at least at my school, we called them "super s."

I did a quick google search for "super s drawing" and it seems to have brought up some results.  Maybe with a little more digging the origin will be found.

EDIT: Found it.  I guess it's a combination of Super S and Stussy!  Ladies and gentlemen, the Super S Stussy!

I always associated it with superman even though it doesnt look like it at all.

Everyone at my old school used to draw it and call it superman symbol or something

I used to draw those a lot when I was around 10 years old. I have no loving idea what their appeal is.

Whoa you can draw an S? You must be so entrepreneur .

Silly american kids and their S's

Br0 there are reports of this in Australia and other countries, during the loving 80's.
