Author Topic: Support for Windows XP is ending...in 3 years  (Read 960 times)

Yet again, Microsoft is forcefully pushing the Windows operating system to the next level, making us upgrade or be left behind with the other unsupported Windows operating systems such as 95, NT 4, 98, ME, and 2000, including the lower than 95 Windows operating systems (if you use Windows, of coarse). I just read on this page that support (ex. updates, security updates, other stuff, ect.) for Windows XP will end in Arpril of 2014. And Mircosoft stopped selling Windows XP in October 2010 (I am guessing most of us already know that) for room for Vista and 7 and soon-to-be Windows 2012. This is quite critical for many users that still use Windows XP, including the amount of stuffty and poor schools that still use Windows XP, for being the most used operating system of Windows. I might also get a Windows XP computer in a few days that might not be good in 3 years, this might make me upgrade to 7 or 2012.

Discuss.

screw it just get a windows 7 PC

Well, what do you expect? It's a a nearly ten year old operating system.

But still, its good, and their gonna skrew 7 million people.

By 2014 there will be no PC's which come with XP by default, and the ones that have it from like 3 years ago will be so outdated it'll be crazy.

Damn.

Oh well. Don`t need it.

Wait 'till 201- WINDOWS 2012?
Crap, I'll never be able to get it, we'll all be dead. :c

forget. Almost every PC computer in my school runs of XP. And the old computer in my bro's studio still runs off it!

Im leaving for Middle School next year though.

Why do Schools downgrade to XP anyways?

Why do Schools downgrade to XP anyways?

Cheap, secure, reliable, easy, and just about all computers can run it decently.

Windows 7 would be nice to have. I love XP's reliability though.

Hopefully by then I can scrap this PC anyway.

despite being one of the best schools around, LTHS still uses XP for some reason and it really bugs me. further, they for some reason have office 2007 with it, which is confusing because 2007 has such a Vista/7 GUI.

also i just got office 2010 suk my cokk

._.

...he's 13 and in 5th grade?

...I'm 15 and in 10th?

Something's wrong.
