I saw you quickly get an avatar. That means that I upgraded the random access memory, or RAM, of my computer, and it will ship soon.

Don't buy Alienware. Don't buy a laptop for gaming.

Actually i had an avatar, but i changed it, and i forgot to check the box that said "I will choose my own avatar" or something liek dat

Why?

They dont last long term.

They also come with restrictions as far as general power and such.

Why?

People who spent money on a desk don't want to be told they didn't have to.  :cookieMonster:

I don't see your point. If you keep the laptop in good condition, it'll last a long time. You can add/take ram, graphics cards, and even hard drives from alienware laptops. I dont see any other laptop that can do that. At least not mine.

ok, thanks for the info guys. I found an m17x for a good price, but is this a legitimate deal or a scam? http://cgi.ebay.com/Alienware-M17X-R1-8GB-RAM-1GB-Video-Dual-SSDs-/160543012835?pt=Laptops_Nov05&hash=item25611bf7e3

M11x, how you test my patience with the shipping time! Because I upgraded to 4 gigs of ram, I now have to wait another week to get my laptop. With no ram upgrade, I would have gotten it today :/
Now it is estimated to arrive the 21st.

Alienware's are just higher-end and more expensive dell laptops, fyi

And as Kevin said, never buy a laptop for gaming. Laptops aren't supposed to be used for gaming, they are limited in capability and when the next generation games come out, you won't be able to upgrade, you'd have to buy an entirely new laptop. Desktops are for gaming, laptops are for work.
