Author Topic: Got a new computer.  (Read 606 times)

I was playing spiral knights this morning when my dad came home... with a new computer :D

It's definitely better than my old one, other than the graphics card and PSU. But I'm going to put the ones I have before into this to make it better.

Here are the specs.

The best part is he got it on clearance at office depot or max or whatever for $400. I'm so happy c:

Integrated graphics. Arrgg. 256 MB is okay... don't expect blazing gaming performance, or ability to upgrade.

Meh. Could be better, but if you only want to play low-end games and use the internet, itll do fine.

Mid to low end games, you can survive with HL2, Portal, and even Gmod (Gmod only just) on much stufftier computers.

I'm going to put the another I have until I can buy a better gpu. I just need to take the PSU out of this one and swap it with the other from my old computer. This one is like a 200w and the other is a 430w, and my gpu requires a 300w.

I went from a single core 2.1 gh/z processor, 176gb hard drive, 1.7gb of ram to quad core 2.9, 1tb, and 6gb of ram. It's going to be very nice. And I can host a MC server properly now :D

I honestly wish I could upgrade my computer's memory to 1TB, but I don't know how and don't have the money.

Screwing up a 900$ machine is NOT A GOOD IDEA.

Just FYI that graphics card is built in so you can't just switch it around willy nilly, some integrated cards (like on laptops) can't be removed, for others replacement is bitchy.

PCI-E slot. Yes. The only problem is there's only 1 slot.

Eh, I guess it's not like I'm going to be running 72 instances of crCIA at once.
