"28 days the world will end" Chain Letter

Days back, some guy on IRC started a chain letter about "28 days the world will end"
I think it was "eyeguy", but people started coming to EVERY server and posting that.

Questions:
Has anyone seen this lately?
Was it on more games/sites than just Blockland?
Do you know who actually started it?
Do you know what could of caused this?

It's annoying but, people'll eventually start banning them from their servers.

you could tell it was fake, because they said exact time. (ex. 3 days 5 hours 43 minutes 19 seconds) Every time, they said 12 seconds.
