What is the point of clans?

Though this might be a small question, what is the point of it?
I hardly see any clans that build stuff together, and i think the only point of it is to feel accepted in a nice clan.
Sure there's Filming clans and eventing clans, but filming uses the default saves a lot, and eventing clans... Well, i dont know.

There used to be great clans... but they died. Ran out of creative juices and went elsewhere. Good clans can be born, but they never last forever.

Almost every clan i see, there is no Gallery section.

Clans are meant to collaborate with other people or to play with other people.
But now people make them to accomplished that you have members in it

A lot of clans do a few builds. But most of them die before they put a lot out.

Depending on what kind, DM, or Build, Socialize, or show off.

Generally, constructive clans in this game usually try to follow a formula:

X -Build, having support from other people when constructing them
X -Socialize
X -Unite players

But from what I've seen, they usually are made by egotistical children to get attention and slight power over other people.

The point of clans would appear to be to create really long spammy threads that achieve absolutely nothing.

The point of NWB was to create very detailed builds with a team of equally skilled builders while still having some fun in the process. NWB also hosted countless community builds which became very popular.

The point of a clan (mine anyway) is to have a group where we can all be friends and build, event or do whatever together. At some point we will probably shove out a clan build (just wait till summer comes, that's when all the clan builds start to come out of lot's of clans).
