The Mayans were ahead of their time in charting, predicting, and observing. The Mayan land was prone to frequent earthquakes that were amplified by the soil of their land. They did predict and ending of a world but not Earth. They predicted that during 2012 there would be a devastating natural disaster or the natural disasters would bring down the Mayan civilization by then. But everyone likes the ran out of space joke better cause it's simpler.

The problem is that people think that because they were ahead of their time, they were magically better than modern science at predicting things (hint: they aren't and anyone that thinks they are is stupid)

I never said anything about them being ahead of modern science, but no one else was accurately measuring planets, orbits and all that cool jazz as they were at that point of time. Plus that's quite blunt of you.
