Author Topic: Why do we hate certain music?  (Read 1200 times)

My question is kinda complicated.

Why did we hate groups like The Naked Brothers Band, The Jonas Brothers, Justin Beiber, and others when they came out with a song?
Is it because all of them were sponsored by large companies like Disney or Nickelodeon? Was it because almost every woman loved them?
And for that matter, Why do we despise some songs?
Take Rick Astley's "Never gonna give you up". That was #1 on the charts until it turned viral. Same goes for 009 Sound System's "With A Spirit"

Everyone seems to hate these musics, me included somewhat, and I want to know what group you hate and a good reason why.

every single heavy metal band.

oh british pirate in a tux.

Because the music is actually bad and girls are all over them because of the face and because their friends like it and they have to like it or else they're not cool.

My little sister used to dislike JB, till she got new friends.

Because we see that groups like Jonas/GaGa/any other stuffty pop artists as having no talent, and when people buy their music we see it as money that could have been spent on a good artist.

Because certain music simply doesn't appeal to the minds of certain people.

As for disliking a group, we either dislike their image, music, or are annoyed with their exaggerated reputation.

I hate all the bands you mentioned because they make awful music, they're douchebags, and many people think that that's what good music sounds like.

I don't hate any music, I do like some of The Jonas Brother's music or Justin Bieber's songs. Or even Tokio Hotel, they nice. <3

But I'm no major fangirl so, it's not like it's my favourite music ever.

Metal is the best thing ever. :D

I actually like Who I Am by The Jonas Brothers feat. The Administration but the rest is bad to me.

I dislike their styles, voices, and lyrics.
They just happen to also be the popular hated ones.

Usually people don't like music for the complete opposite reason you think of.

As an example, a new music band is formed, named "boyz rool", you could simply not like, or listen to the music because of the name.

As a further examining, say one of the lead singers in Boyz Rool is "Jack Guts". His appearance is not fitting to your standards at all. He would have long, greasy hair, messed up teeth and he's that kind of rock band singer that endorses anarchy and acting out. You also don't like his personality, so you appropriately avoid listening to any songs with him in it.

Another example would be this: Say the song is very popular among a feminine community. You do not like this community, or it is different from you. This would make you think the song wouldn't appeal to you if it appeals to different standards.

The last example is that this is a very popular music album, and usually in the new genre of this music, popular = bad. This would alone be a reason for you to hate it.

But that's all I can think about.
