Author Topic: Why do we hate certain music?  (Read 1207 times)

Usually people don't like music for the complete opposite reason you think of.

As an example, a new music band is formed, named "boyz rool", you could simply not like, or listen to the music because of the name.

As a further examining, say one of the lead singers in Boyz Rool is "Jack Guts". His appearance is not fitting to your standards at all. He would have long, greasy hair, messed up teeth and he's that kind of rock band singer that endorses anarchy and acting out. You also don't like his personality, so you appropriately avoid listening to any songs with him in it.

Another example would be this: Say the song is very popular among a feminine community. You do not like this community, or it is different from you. This would make you think the song wouldn't appeal to you if it appeals to different standards.

The last example is that this is a very popular music album, and usually in the new genre of this music, popular = bad. This would alone be a reason for you to hate it.

But that's all I can think about.

Put very well good sir. I agree with what you've said.

For me it's because I don't like that certain type of music.
I like these kinds of music.

Heavy Metal bands can't loving sing coherently, though they often make good music. Too bad they hardly ever make versions of their pieces without lyrics.

But when they do have them without vocals, they're quite enjoyable.
