Did the Toadstool Castle ever make you feel uncomfortable?

Yes, it scared the hell out of me.
Yes, it was very unsettling.
Yes, but I can't find a reason why.
Can't remember much about it.
I've never played Super Mario 64
No, but it was weird.
No, it was actually cheery and bright.
No, I can't find a reason it would be.

Super mario 64 was the only game I actually remember from my childhood. I remember the worlds, I remember the new 3D graphics which really made me stuff bricks, and I remember all the wonderful times I had playing this game. These joyful memories drove me to buy a new copy and an N64.

I had hoped I made the right choice, since I shelled out a hundred bucks in one day. I took it home to play it, and the cartridge has the logo taken off. It was instead replaced with a band of tape saying "Super mario 64". As much as I remember, it starts up with that coin sound and the logo popping up while Mario says "It's a me, mario!" Then it went to the funny mario's face stretching screen, only this time mario's face isn't there and the press start screen isn't flashing and it's in the top right corner.

I press start, and instead of making that flash sound, it just says "It's a me, mario" again. It takes me straight to the cutscene of peach's letter. Peach isn't there and the letter is blank. The camera pans down and starts playing the beginning cutscene, only there's no music. It's slower, and when it cuts to mario, he's just standing there, watching the camera. Then it cuts to me playing as him, and the environmental sounds are slower and lower-pitched. The graphics are the same, though. I enter the castle and the bowser sound plays, but mario isn't there, there's no music and the graphics are all black.

I move around and go into the first door. The painting is all white, except for a dot in the middle. I jump into it and it kills me instantly, except the death sound is extremely loud, and it shows mario's body stuck inside of the painting. It then spawns me inside of lethal lava land, only I have no lives left, mario's animation is wigging out and I keep hearing explosion sounds. The lava is all black, and the bullies are gone. All of a sudden it starts playing the beginning cutscene song. At this part I shat my pants because the lava was slowly lowering and I keep hearing that "it'sa me!" sound. All of a sudden it cuts to me walking around in the castle with graphics that looked like the game was raped up the starfish. The music was veeery glitch, and mario kept making a painful sound.

Then all of a sudden a loving boo flies out of the wall and kills me, suspending mario in a looping death animation. It starts playing the beginning cutscene again, only the castle is gone. It finally cuts to mario jumping out of the tube, only he sticks in mid-air and stays there as the pipe goes back down. I start controlling him, and he's stuck in mid-air still, only he moves around. I go inside the castle (according to the castle's shadow on the ground) and I am greeted with paintings all over the walls. The same paintings, too. It's the painting that leads to the first area, only it's completely gray. I jumped into one and it led me straight back outside, only the castle's back and it is still playing the castle music, only slower.

It finally cuts to the beginning logo screen, only it freezes up, and it continues to play "It'sa me, mario!"

I am loving disappointed, I wasted money on a stupid edited cartridge.

Why does Pokemon have such a weird way of numbering episodes?
Well, I'll tell you.

Back when I was 9 I got Pokemon for Christmas.
I expected to get the Red version, but to my surprise I got a Hyper-Realistic looking version called Blood.

The Cartridge had a Charizard bleeding with the word blood at the bottom.

I was too excited and just shrugged it off and started my adventure.

When I was naming my trainer and Gary it would only use the name Blood, no matter what I typed.

I finally got in game, there was blood everywhere, Hyper-Realistic blood.

Soon my gameboy started leaking blood and the game turned off.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing with my Hyper-Realistic eyes.

I threw it outside at the nearest Hyper-Realistic trashcan I could find.

To this day I still haven't heard or seen about it ever again.

But I still have the picture of the cartridge.

What did I just read?
