And admin and password isn't always the username and password. It's a default setting but his parents could have changed it. I know my parents did but I managed to figure out the password. :3

If 192.168.1.1 doesn't work, try 192.168.0.1.

I had a Belkin router a long time ago that's address was 192.168.0.1.
