My little brother was playing nd roblox is having this contest where you win hats, And it is all based on that transformers movie that just came out, This is the THIRD time roblox has done this stuff.

They use advertisements for new movies for quick cash. 60% of ROBLOX's income is put into keeping their servers up, helping them eat and stuff like that. ROBLOX has to be able to pay the admins like a career. Sure, they're not that good at moderating, but that's just the forums. ROBLOX isn't about the forums just like Blockland isn't about the forums.

All that money for each server wouldn't be needed if they made/let users host themselves.
