Author Topic: The Zeitgeist Movement  (Read 11034 times)

@Rekuddo:
"I watch both sides of the news to get both opinions, a lot of people do this it's interesting I was following both Liberal and Conservative newspapers during the Egyptian protests, it's interesting to see what both sides have to say."
There are many biased non-major news sources.

"Monopolies in states, not the total country. Such as I live in Pennsylvania, in southwestern Pennsylvania we use Allegheny power, they have a monopoly over southwest Pennsylvania. Reducing dependence on electric companies? That makes no sense everyone's still going to rely on them for energy, what about hospitals? Schools? public buildings?"
The existence of monopolies is irrelevant anyway, and I said reduce, not eliminate.

"My family is a military family, nearly everyone of my family members have been in the military, they really enjoy it and continue to do it, even my family members who are retired wish they could still be in, the military has a lot of benefits, the military however is not for a lot of people, it takes dedication."
This does not even begin to explain how the military is a "great choice for a career path," what your family does is irrelevant.

"Yes that's why everyone in their right mind has a bank account."
Do remember that the Zeitgeist movement encourages boycotting the fed cartel, not all banks.

"I'm not going to listen to a 15 year old who hardly has any real experiences in the real world with politics explain to me why a stupid idea is better for the people of this country."
1. Clearly, you are listening to me.
2. My age has nothing to do with this discussion, nor does yours or anyone else's.
3. Addendum explains this "stupid idea" rather nicely.
Which nations would invade the US again? For what reason would they do so? Are you aware we're talking about this on a global scale?
Don't worry, we know how the monetary system works (and clearly, better than you do). Watch (or read) the first 10 minutes or so of Addendum.

Of course i am aware of what i am saying and that is on a global scale, and did you not read what i had to say? I said that most countries are mad at us for some reason, whether it be the fact that we are one of the world's most powerful countries, past wars, debates, whatever. And why would anyone have reason to invade us? I'm not saying that instantly that we will be jumped upon for not having a military, but it will come back and bite us in the ass. And you do realize that debates pop up right? Debates lead to war, war requires an army, without an army, you, me, and everyone us will end up dead.

i predict american society (mostly the christian portion) to either break down and riot during 2012 or after it, when the apocalypse fails to happen when they realise thier religion, that which they have dedicated thier lives too is a lie
You obviously have never read the bible. The second coming of Jesus Christ is on an unmarked date. 2012 is just some bullstuff someone made up.

Wasn't the 'doomsday' of 2012 Mayan related?

Er, Aztec.
Again no. The only doomsday mentioned in the Bible is the rapture and Armageddon

I like how my recent questions are ignored by the supporters of this movement because they point out obvious flaws and irrational things that need to be done for any chance of it being able to work.

You continually make references to the US, which led me to believe you didn't know this was on a global scale.

I said that most countries are mad at us for some reason, whether it be the fact that we are one of the world's most powerful countries, past wars, debates, whatever.
And I asked for specific countries.

And why would anyone have reason to invade us? I'm not saying that instantly that we will be jumped upon for not having a military, but it will come back and bite us in the ass. This thread is a debate and no wars I know of have begun as a result of it.

I apologize for not replying to every post in a stuffstorm, please restate any points you would like to bring to light.

That's cult followers for ya.

OH I KNOW! WW3

Oh hey is this topic still going?

Here's a few questions I'd like answered:

1. How are you going to eliminate every damn religion ever made and expect everyone to be ok with it?

2. What will happen when someone tries to control other people and exploit resources?
This could be put under number 4 I guess

3. How are you going to apply this to every loving country on earth? Terrorists, Rich Sultans, and certain country governments dislike our globalization of our current economy, so you are going to forcibly take resources from them, redistribute them to poor, lazy people, and take away their religion also?

4. Who is going to stabilize this system and keep it free of corruption while also keeping resources and morale in check?
