America in the 1700-1930 era was the Greatest country to live in at the time. But general idiocy increased rapidly since the 20th century. And it seems republicans are argumentative as usual. But what also pisses me off is how the Democratic Party is the popular group right now, and with Contrarians being the rebellious forgets they are are adding a couple million for Republicans. Why can't people learn to just work together and find a central point of agreement instead of competing / fighting with each other?

While I believe this country was founded to not support a mainstream religion, it still gave the freedom to believe in whatever you want. Since the majority religion in America at the time was Christian, it was unavoidable to not pander to them simply to garner support for the regime. So in effect, it was a Chrstian nation by majority, not by choice. It can easily be changed at any time and if enough of the population support it, it will be as such.
