Author Topic: Comcast Data Limit  (Read 1997 times)

Apparently, after getting a new PC (built from scratch) and a new iPod touch (Jailbroken), I went on a downloading spree and downloaded what I needed first and then what I wanted. Turns out after 15 days, I remember that comcast has a data usage limit of 250 Gb per month (to which if I hit the limit they first give me a warning and if it happens again they will terminate my contract for a year) and on average I use 75-150 a month (thanks to other iPods, laptos, and 360s).

I go online and find this...

Considering I have people using my network and I can't tell them to simply stop using the Internet, you think I will make it by the end of the month?

I'll ban Comcast from server

I'd suggest explaining to these other individuals about your usage limit, and try to find a way to have them moderate what they do(or keep up with what they are doing) so you don't end up paying the price.

Rather than just limiting you of some sort, they rather terminate your damn contract.

How the hell is that fair?

i only use like 2 gb a day on a single laptop

you can actually get a comcast contract? and there are data limits?
do you live like 100 miles from a town or something?

Gah, my internet got capped.

@Bisjac = I didnt mean contract, I ment like a normal service where there are rules and what not. I just cant pass the limit. and ya data limits, I didnt know till I accidently fell on the link about it XD

@Kalphiter = Right? They lose a customer... Whatever

@Badspot = Offtopic? I guess, in any case thanks.

This is the problem with evil, large business.
They start forgetting about one customer because they have many more where they came from.

well lose a customer sure. but there can only be one cable company per area. they pay for the exclusive rights to the lines in a city for like an every 4 year contract or something.
you would have to use a diff type of net then
