Author Topic: I need to convert a .DTS to a .MS3D  (Read 3279 times)

There have been lots of topics like this before, but I am making an edit of the Turismo, that will have a slightly edited model. But when I use SHaper to convert it, it glitches, and all the faces keep dissapearing and appearing, so you cant tell what coulors it is. I would be really greatful if someone could try and do this, but I need it to:
-Not be glitchy
-Keep animations
-And it would be nice if it kept the textures.

Make sure you get permission from the original maker first. :3

Shaper is the only one at the moment what can do this.

I used Shaper, but for some reason it was all glitchy.

And I have PM'd phydeoux, but I havent got a reply.

I'm getting shaper soon, and if it's glitchy as you say, then you are better off asking for the original model of the turismo.

I have shaper and its really glitching also you cant bring the model into a .blend or .ms3d

Yes, you can, but you cannot get the joints in.

Okay, anyone want to PM the guy who made shaper?

Shaper development has stopped. Unfortunately other things have come up meaning Shaper is no longer as high a priority as it used to be. There is a small chance development will resume in the future.

Shaper doesn't export textures correctly (or Milkshape doesn't import them correctly), and animations won't export/import correctly either. The bones/joints sometimes cause the exporter to screw up, which then you have to delete them. Even if they export without problem, you still have to scale the model x10 then get all the joints in their proper positions.

The most Shaper is useful for is bare meshes. Re-texturing isn't hard, re-jointing isn't hard either. The Turismo (if we are talking about Phydeoux's Turismo) doesn't have animations from what I've gathered.

If you want it, you will have to make sacrifices and redo some of the work yourself.

You cant export it to blender or milkshape i looked.

Instead of asking the creater if you can modify it, ask the creator for the .ms3d if they still have it.

This is true.
You can export to a .txt format that can be imported into Milkshape, however there is nothing you can export that can be directly imported into Milkshape/Blender(you'd have to go from Shaper>Milkshape>Blender).

Ok i tried that blastdown but it said:

Error importing Milkshape 3D ASCII file.

Ok i tried that blastdown but it said:

I have no idea what you've done, so I can not say how to fix it. I don't recall ever having such an error before.
Here is how I do it.

Import .DTS to Shaper > Remove Bones > Export to "MilkShape 3D ASCI (*.txt)" > Import "MilkShape 3D ASCII..." on Milkshape 3D> Uncheck Materials, Bones, Key Frames > OK

Removing bones may vary from file to file, materials never appear correctly, key frames don't work anyways.
If yours still doesn't work, I do not know what is wrong.
