I already know that, and I mentioned it in the OP. However, I lacked the space I needed to make the doors look feasible at all without making the locomotive itself too wide. So I added side doors instead.

Nice! The locomotives in my build are two studs thinner in gauge.

Aren't they '6 gauge? Because mine are '6 gauge too.

Oh, you're right: they ARE of the same gauge! I miscounted yours as 8.
