Author Topic: Help with my computer pl0x - installing Ubuntu  (Read 3753 times)

So, today I booted my pc. Well, I can't get to the logon screen because I get an error message "winlogon.exe - Entry Point Not found" and the message is "The procedure entry point UninitalizeCriticalSection could not be located in the dunamic link library KERNEL.32.dll" and an OK option. I press that and now, "lsass.exe - Entry Point not found" with the same message. I click okay then "USER INTERFACE FAILURE" and it says, "The Logon User interface DLL msgina.dll failed to load.
Contact your system administraitor to replace the DLL, or restore the original DLL" with a restart box. If I click that, it restarts and the same things happen.

Derp. I dun goofed up.

Help please.

(I am typing this on my Wii with a USB Keyboard)

Well then contact your system administrator to replace the DLL. It says it right there.

o u.

This is my pc. I'm the administraitor, I guess. So, anyone?

I am not kidding. Get your dad or someone to replace the DLL because that is obviously what it wants you to do.

My dad wouldn`t know what to do.

I did a little googling and it looks like you have a corrupted DLL file. there's repair utilities and things to fix corrupted DLL files, but you'd have to be able to log in to use them, so.. :c

You could try and boot from CD or something like that, idk much about things like this. CD should work though, and from there maybe you could fix it.

This may work, search this DLL online (and download it), and find out where it's supposed to go. Afterwards get another computer that can read your hard disk and put the DLL in the spot it's supposed to be and this should fix your problem.

(I have done some stuff similar with other missing DLLs that controlled sound)

Okay, I`ll try to find the CD.

Install Ubuntu.

forget the dlls.

Oh stuff. I just read "kernel32.dll". Kernel32 is one of the most important files in Windows. You have three files not working: kernel32, lsass, and msgina.

Lsass verifies validity of logging into Windows, so if it can't find the entry point...

You're screwed. I looked up everything on this and you need an administrator password for everything.
