Author Topic: Mac instability  (Read 853 times)

Why is the Mac version of Blockland so unstable? It is very annoying.

None of that Mac is crap bullstuff. Get over it.

Blockland was originally designed for Windows. Converting something like that to an entirely different operating system might be difficult

Half Life was originally designed for Windows. That's fine on Mac.
Age of Empires was originally designed for Windows. That's fine on Mac.
Halo was originally designed for Windows. That;s fine on Mac.

There are a lot of games that were ORIGINALLY designed for Windows. But they work fine with Macs.

Porting a game from Windows to Mac is hard, because of all the restrictions of the Mac.

Most developers don't even bother with it, so be glad there actually is one.

If you want to be a gamer, then you should consider ditching the Mac. It's just not for you.

They have more than a dozen programmers for their games. Badspot works alone.

Is it really that hard? Torque compiles for both, you'd only have to change things like file directories and settings and crap surely.

Also my edition of Blockland v19m is perfectly stable.

Oh yeah, I forgot that most problems are caused by the user.

Really?

Because when I host a dark map, if I try to turn off my light. I crash. If I do turn it off. Then I crash when I turn it back on.

I can't even host trench digging servers because I crash within 5 seconds after digging starts.

Those and just some random crashing. It's loving annoying.

I crash when using light in my server also! Its really annoying. My server also crashes a lot.

I haven't experienced any problems apart from the Sqlite errors, which can be fixed just be restarting Blockland. Perhaps you should point your finger at something other than the computer.

Macs are so weird.

I suggest you report any bugs like that or ask about them in the Help section. Check your console.log too.

Be patient.

I was. For 3 days. The last 2 were just me getting madder and madder.

EDIT: It took 4 bumps and 4 days for someone to post something helpful.
