Author Topic: Graphic card  (Read 927 times)

I have a realy old computer (not really old but old enough) so I cant play minecraft and I was wondering if you could tell me some good graphic cards for around £25.

For starters, how old of a computer?

How much memory are you looking for?

What type of connection (PCI, PCI 2.0, ETC)

What type of output (VGA, DVI, HDMI)

Nobody in the world will be able to help you if u can't figure out the connection type for your card.

3Gb of Video Ram don't exist unless you crossfire or something like that (correct me if I'm wrong)

for that much money you're not going to find anything great. browse cheap video cards on newegg or something

All the video cards are PCI Expresses.

If your video card is too old you're not going to be able to even install it and have it work.

...how are you unable to play Minecraft?

Minecraft isn't exactly well-optimized.

Theres a gtx 580 with 3gb which is a lot and the ASUS ARES with 4gb which is like a grand

The 580 has 1.5gb.

Saying a computer is "four years old" is a next to worthless piece of information. In fact, it is apparent that you are not technically versed enough to navigate your way through the process of installing a new graphics card.

That one has 3

"With double memory size , Palit GTX580 3GB provides2.5X faster performance than 1.5GB version in the hottest title StarCraft II on a 30" monitor with 2560x1600 resolution."

It's funny because that's not even possible.

Palits fans are also rather noisy. I have one of those fans on my GTX 460, I can't even imagine what 2 would be like.

Noise isn't an issue for me though, I use headphones because they're awesome quality.

I think a loud computer is like a sign of  badassery if you don't mind or there's no one in your house that'd mind the noise. As long as it's like a rumble or a roar and not a screeching or like a "something is going wrong!" kind of noise. It's like the same reason that some dudes really like riding Harleys.
