I was just thinking, it may be a stupid idea, it may not, but a 'Radar Ship'. A ship with nothing but a bridge, crew room, engine room, and LOTS of sensor arrays. It could be used to scan planets and moons on the fly for rare materials without having to fly to them. It could also be used to detect friendly and enemy ships from afar.
