Author Topic: Little brother's computer broken. Please help. TRAVESTY!  (Read 1887 times)

This might help. Might not. Have you tried executing the explorer.exe (for Windows Explorer) from the explorer.exe that opens (in other words, the browsing explorer) by going into the C:/Windows/ folder and running it from there? Stupid enough to work, maybe.

first post in the thread aaaghhhh

try going into the task manager and manually launching explorer.exe

nobody loves me.. also yes he has

I tried launching explorer manually on multiple occasions. All it does is open that folder that shows you everything on your computer. You know what I mean. loving stuff is handicapped.

why the stuff did it just post again .. I clicked modify djghdkjdfg

Funny thing just happened: attempted to restart, forgot that there was no 'START' button in bottom left, raged accordingly.

Tell him to stop looking at gay research.
Did you move the mouse?

Thanks man, you're the coolest loving guy ever. I'm sure if, however unlikely it may be, your computer had a problem like this, you would want forgettards like you saying stupid stuff that doesn't help.

Spend less time playing with yourself when you're in school why don't you? Idiot.

No wonder nobody loves you, learn to read.
It opens the browser for files. He wants to open a file. I suggested that he should go and run the file he is trying to ACTUALLY run with the browser that opens, herp derp derp.
Edit: In other words:
-Run the explorer.exe that is /already/ opening
-Navigate to the explorer.exe he wants to open that isn't the one that ^just opened^
-Run the one he wants to run that isn't ^already running^
-Possible profit

I said that too herp derp derp

unless you don't understand that you can run any program through the task manager itself and you don't need explorer.exe .. which is what I had suggested to him. hence the whole "manually run explorer" and I'm sure he's smart enough to figure out he could type something else there too.

Alright so I just started windows in safe mode with a command prompt, however I couldn't type anything. And yes the keyboard was plugged in.

well .. that's stuffty

brb google

edit: couldn't find anything. that's abnormal (obviously) but I've never personally had this problem so I can't really help you beyond telling you to system restore once you're able to type in the command prompt.

Try taking it to the Geek Squad.

Try taking it to the Geek Squad.

Last resort plan when EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING ELSE has been tried at lest three loving times every day for a week.

Since I'm doing my homework and have no time to think, I'll just leave this here.

Partial success!

Now doing a system restore to before this problem was going on. If this doesn't work, then it leads me to believe that the problem is not caused by something downloaded or errors with windows, but rather some tangible damage might have been done to the hard drive. For all I know, my brother might beat his computer with a baseball bat while I'm not looking.

Partial success!

what did you do?
