My Dad was a handicap and smashed it after I had forgotten. Actually, like last month, I found almost all the pieces in that old room we literally never go into. If I could figure out how to reconstruct it from little pits still put together, I'd try, but I'm sure I'm missing pieces so meh...

Possibly because you'd bumped it 4 times without any extra activity going on.
Who ever locked it probably assumed that the topic was completely dead and you weren't going to get anywhere with it.

Still, I have seen topics that have had stuffloads of bumps in them before by the OP, without anyone else ever actively using the topic. I don't recall any of them being locked.

Just because a few get caught doesn't mean you can go "But they did it too!" and you get to do it all you want. If that's how life worked, there would be no order. Everyone would go "I can do this because this other person didn't get noticed before me!"

I wasn't complaining that it was unjust. And I never claimed it was unfair that others had gotten away with it too.

I was simply pointing out that this is the first time such a thing has happened, and there has been no warning about overtly bumping topics before. This is simply an oddity and doesn't happen normally.
