In terms of realism, this would be impossible, for it needs an ammo tube of the same size, and this would probably something like an .5 gauge shotgun.

But in blockoism, this is epic.

More makeshift/improvised ideas: PVC Pipe Bomb-- main purpose is to injure with fragments, make a very loud noise, and push people with radius blast, and the Slingshot+Flaming Tennis Balls(not so sure about this one)-- self explanatory
