For Blockland there is a point where weapons can become too detailed. To me, you're pushing it. I like them, don't get me wrong, but for Blockland I don't know..

No, it was my Blender version type. I was using a Blender 2.49b SIXTY FOUR BIT. The compatibility between the exporter and the x64 bit was null.

The models don't actually have much polygons, except for the PSG x__x

let's just hope that once this is released people won't use them for extremely stupid things

What do you mean by this stupid things? :3

There are always people who do stupid things with something. I doubt there are exceptions.

Why do so many people chose sniper rifle? I don't get it.

It's an interesting phenomenon, a lot of people think a sniper rifle must be very powerful and the firepower is one of the most important things when choosing a weapon (The polls I made some time ago aren't as useless as I first thought when I removed the links ._. )

Also, a "sniper" rifle isn't necessarily a bad choice in closer (not super close as in inside buildings) surroundings. Just because it's called a sniper rifle doesn't mean it must be bolt-action and must have a 16x scope.

An assault or battle rifle would do just the trick in closer surroundings, with a sniper rifle, you would have to:
A. Hold up your heavy rifle
B. Make sure to have a steady aim (if you are firing it while standing it can be very hard) by controlling your heartbeat and breathing
C. Aligne your scope with the target
D. Inhale, pull the trigger, exhale.
And fire power isn't that much of a deciding factor, because a battle rifle could just as well be using the same 7.62mm bullet as your sniper.

A: Heavy. Who says "sniper" rifles have to have more than 8 kg or something?
B: Heartbeat and breath control are necessary on greater distances where these little movements (especially heartbeat) make a difference.
C: Scope. I just said a scope isn't a necessity for a "sniper" rifle.
D: See B.
And of course firepower isn't everything. But I think it's rather common thinking that a bigger caliber is (always) better.

How bigger they are how better they are. ;S

That got me thinking.
What is a sniper rifle truely defined by?

Eh, I think it's simply a rifle built for highest accuracy.

Quote from: Wikipedia - Most unreliable source on the web
In military and law enforcement terminology, a sniper rifle is a rifle used to ensure more accurate placement of bullets at longer ranges than other small arms. A typical sniper rifle is built for optimal levels of accuracy, fitted with a telescopic sight and chambered for a military centerfire cartridge. The term is often used in the media to describe any type of accurized firearm fitted with a telescopic sight that is employed against human targets, although "sniping rifle" or "sniper's rifle" is the technically correct fashion to refer to such a rifle.

I just played ArmA 2 for the first time (flipping amazing!) and I was wondering, what's the difference between a designated marksman and a sniper? Or are they the same, just sniper is more or less slang?

Absolutely amazing models, but one thing in the description of one of the guns kind of bugged me.

XM8 Carbine: (Tier 3)
A rugged, reliable modular assault rifle that looks almost futuristic. It has great accuracy.

Really?

...Really?

I've heard that thing has loving melted while in testing. It was never truly finished, I don't think, so it still melts. Sure sounds reliable. On top of that, it's probably not as accurate as you think.

DO NOT compare what we do with these weapons with their real-life counterparts! If you do not like any or most of this(you think it's bland, everything sucks, etc.), we don't care, so don't post here at all if you only intend to complain!

Marksmen usually use scoped assault rifles with semi/burst firing modes, and snipers use true-blue sniper rifles.

Time to experiment.
