I watched the first episode, though it appears to be a two-part story so I should probably watch the second. and watched the second.
It's not too bad actually, but it was rather generic in obvious ways (story-wise). The story is rather typical, and predictable.
The intro theme was flat out terrible, as all My Little Pony themes are.
My rundown of the ponies:
I don't care too much for Twilight Sparkle right now, as she appears to be the downer of the show for now. Pinkie Pie's first reaction was priceless, her hyper-chatterboxy self is quite enjoyable. Applejack has the voice of a countrybumpkin, one which I do not care for, but she seems to be the type of "seems nice, but almost too nice". Rainbow Dash is the fun type, I'd hang with her. I didn't catch the name of the decorater-unicorn, but other than fashion there wasn't much to say about her. Fluttershy is as her name implies, but has the obvious kindheartedness that makes you squeal.
The show is fine, I can see why all ages might enjoy it. I'm not a crazy-fan of it, but if it came on my television I'd probably watch it.
The overhype is just that, though. It's not something, I personally would say, to go nuts over.
