I'm infected with this rogue spyware on my laptop and I need help getting rid of it. It won't allow me to run task manager, my BitDefender, or most any other application. This thing is pissing me off. I need help just ripping it from my laptop manually, seemig that it's possible from unhelpful videos I've seen.

Can you copy and rename your task manager, then try to run it?

Should be C:\Windows\system32\taskmgr.exe

Stop downloading research lolololol

In all seriousness, get all your valuables and put them onto a flash drive. Then, wipe the hard drive and reinstall your operating system.

That's a lot of effort for just a rogue spyware... But I guess if you don't know how to get rid of it any other way, go for it.

It's hard to help people over the internet.

Genius!
It's worked for me. :)

Install a distro of linux to a flash drive, preferably Ubuntu.  Boot to flash drive, open your file system (should be in the Places tab) and locate the main executable and delete it.  Maybe even run a scan with AVG or ClamAV.  (ClamAV sucks though.)

I think I might've fixed it. I went onto the administrator user (which was only accessible thru safe mode, and I ran in networking mode) and downloaded spyware doctor (legit anti-spyware, lol) and download it onto my actual user desktop as iexplorer.exe (I was also following online directions from my iPhone, it said to do so) then went to THAT user and installed. I think it found the virus because it shows a virus in the list. For all I know I could have multiple. Its still running. Wish me luck.

This happened to my Pa's computer. Run a system restore, that's the only thing that worked for us.

did you seriously take a picture of your monitor

did you seriously take a picture of your monitor
He probably wasn't able to use PrtScrn, he's in safemode.
...I dunno. But who cares, anyways?

Yes, I took a picture of my screen. I'm not able to access my PDN or uploaded so this was the next best thing.

Also:

ANOTHER loving VIRUS. God damn.

I don't always get viruses, but when I do
I use Malwarebytes.

I don't know why this suddenly popped into my head. :P

How do you people get viruses? Seriously

I BARELY have an anti-virus and I never get infected...

I use Windows 7 btw, not a Mac.

forget it. That damned thing was only a scanner, not a remover. I'm restoring. This stuff is gaaaaay.
