Author Topic: Why Doesn't BadSpot Give Us AoT?  (Read 7687 times)

People play it, it's a really good idea but it's unfinished. I've seen some of the "mods" and stuff people have made, like Nat, he does cool stuff with AoT for custom servers plus he has  TGEA license.

BadSpot should let him, or anyone else, work on it, yes?

Stop asking. An example is that the player model is his sole property, made to his ideal and his thought.

Really, I could give some long-winded explanation, but my true question is why this is your loving idea. That's like telling someone to give them their food rations in a bunker because you think they'll never finish it or put it to any good use.

Or I could use the example of giving someone your house because you don't use every square foot of it at once so it's going to waste... I don't know... I have no idea how to get through to you.

The difference? Badspot will most likely never do anything with AoT. He gave up on it, so Badspot's rations will never be put to use anymore.

But by what logic makes so many people think you give away your baby just because you just feed it. (Server still hosted.) There's no logic in handing away your work the way you speak. Honestly, no one who wants to has the professional drive to make anything of this, nor would it seem they'd manage it correctly. He'd still have to pay for the server, unless you guys are THAT committed.

I could list so much, but I'm sure someone can be more precise.

If he made it cost money like Blockland I'd be willing to buy it, in a finished state.
The game has lots of potential to be good it just needs lots of polish. Since BadSpot is not willing to work on it himself, hiring somebody from the community would be good.

He's hosting AoT now, what would change if he hosted an improved one AND made a bit of profit from it.

If you can't even say his name right, what gives you the right to ask such things of him? Seems like you don't care more than to mess with the models, lose interest, and leave it to die like TBM.

I'm pretty sure he spelt Badspot correctly. Stop being so defensive and pessimistic when someone has an idea. Even if it will never happen.

  • 2: It's been pitched AT LEAST twice before. The only reason I can see people all getting this exact idea in such a small community is seeing the idea fail and deciding "I want my try to ask!" But no one gives good reason why Badspot should hand over the whole thing, his first successful game, with all his work he had put into it, to people untested in such development and idea making required to push it further.

Badspot doesn't give us AoT because he's trying to make us have a bad day.

like Nat, he does cool stuff with AoT for custom servers plus he has  TGEA license.
If Nat (is that Hellboy Nat in this topic or someone else?) has a TGEA license and wants the AoT source, why doesn't he just write up his own RPG? It'd would lead to a better product then trying to look at someone else's code, figure out what the hell it all does, and then adding on to it. Plus he could do everything his way with the features he wanted, and he could remake it taking full advantage of all the new features in TGEA.

because he'd do hack-y stuff D:<

Look, the main answer to these type of questions is this:

Badspot only made AoT to test out his Torque skills. He will no longer continue to produce the game.

Also, the majority of the community is all too hostile. I've left the game for good, it never gets updated and it's just incredibly boring.

no, you just got hacked! :cookieMonster:

No I'm loving serious. This game is possibly the most boring Online Multiplayer game I've played.
