I thought AiO was a standalone mod?

The forum is quiet for now...

While we're on the topic of older mods, who made that zombie mod for vanilla BL?

I think it was Lanhoj. I know he made AiO and something else. The "something else" might have been it.

Also at the bottom of the page "2005 - 2011 Just kidding." Haha.

I don't really understand what the big deal is.

Nope, it required Vanilla Blockland to run.
AiO-r however, did get a few iterations that were packaged together with an unmodified copy Vanilla Blockland  just so people wouldn't have to download both.

In relation to Blockland, the "something else" from me (with help from a few others ) you might be referring to was most likely AiO-r.
