Author Topic: Key.dat Help  (Read 2237 times)

Hey, i've had Blockland on my desktop for awhile. I can no longer access  the "lost key recovery" email. So i just emailed myself the key.dat file. I have used it before instead of lost key recovery with no issues. Now it just stays in demo mode even with the key.dat file in the blockland folder. I have a windows 7 toshiba sattelite.

What is it with you idiots losing your email that you bought stuff with?

Day 1:
Hey! I'll made a hotmail account!

Day 2:
WOO I BOUGHTS BLOCKALDN

Day 200-something days later:
I forgot my password.

This is why I used my parent's email, because my mom uses it for everything.
Also, key.dats don't copy well. Or at all.

That's not what happened. If you don't have anything helpful to say don;t say it.

The key.dat will only work if your computer has the same name.

Is there any way i can fix it?

Buy a new key and don't forget the email.

This, or somehow remember the name of your old computer.

CHECKING IMMEDIATELY.

Does anyone know what kind of file the .dat is. Like the .dat means i have to know what it was made in to see its true form, what program makes the keys?

You can't decompile the .dat file for a key unless you sit there figuring it out for years, or get lucky.

You can if you open it with the correct program. SOmetimes it can be as simple as opening it with word.

Good luck with that.

Nothing opens .dat files.
You'd have to make your own program.
