So after PTC my IT teacher tells me I can do some "artwork" to raise my grade a bit. I do some works in GIMP and he knotices them. Now he's asking me if I can do a picture for the school yearbook. I really don't want to, since were a pretty small school (400 kids, yea its a private school) He goes on how this is an opportunity for me and it could "open doors" for me. I say bullstuff, probably only 150-200 or so actually buy the damn book, and as if I want to waste my time making the art itself.

One problem: now my parents are trying to force me to do it, that is unless I can come up with a decent excuse.

Halp? Should I do it or not?

Do it, if you like artwork as a passion.

Just say no if you don't want to. It's your talent and you can use it as you please regardless of parents.

If it's gonna raise your grade, do it and stop acting like you're not going to get anything for it.

A little misunderstanding there night fox, I'm definitly doing the stuff that'll raise my grade, its the yearbook that's not worth anything.

i don't know why you wouldn't, if you like doing art-y stuff. getting your stuff published is a big step, even if its just a little school thing.

Contributing to a yearbook is a great thing to do. I contributed to one in 2009 and I designed and managed the yearbook last year for my school. Its a great thing to be involved with, especially if you keep a copy and look back on it in the future.

From my experience with managing yearbooks, getting students to be involved in contributing is extremely hard and its always appreciated when someone does. If you are interested in art, that will be a good thing to do and to keep.

I recommend also you avoid seeking life advice on these forums, the people here will try hard to forget you up for their own pleasure.

I came to the conclusion (after and arguement with my dad)that publishing the art would be a good idea, it'll help me with college, only little though.

If I had access to my desktop I would lock this, since it looks like its going to de-rail

get the job to do one of those full page photo collages. sneak in a small cut out of your snake somewhere that wouldnt be noticed.
then when everyone buys the yearbook, tell everyone.

you will be legendary.

everyone will want you to sign by your snake in the book.

and in 10 years, everyone will be looking through the book and be like "and there is that guy that worked on the yearbook and put his snake in here. it was the ultimate forget you to the school, and he got suspended for a week. we will never forget that guy"
