Very, very cool. I would play this.

I would play this, too. But not this entire version. A polished version.

You could make a 2D version if you know how to.

I would like to see that, actually.
I could whip up an example in about an hour. Brb.

YES.

Great, now it's been spoiled for me.

This sounds too much like something that would happen in Persona :o

May I ask what Persona is? I would search it up, but it would be better to get an explanation from the person who compared them.

What's been spoiled?
If it gets released, the plot will be spoiled for everyone that saw this topic xD

If Kingdaro makes it good enough, somebody could make a thread in games containing the download link?

There are currently four games, each having a different storyline.
I didn't really compare them featurewise, it just sounds like something that would happen in one of those games storywise, minus the household appliances attacking you.
But, here are the comparisons.

There are Needed quests, and personal quests. Needed quests are things your character has to get done. Personal quests are things that have to do with nothing special.
Of course, any game will have quests, but Persona has this kind of thing too. Needed quests are usually going through a dungeon meeting a deadline, and personal quests are just, well, personal.

You now have an ingame clock that starts at noon. If you do not progress through quests to help calm yourself and provide a safe environment, you will spontaneously die
In the game, the "Needed quests" I stated earlier will do the same thing. If the player does not meet a condition, such as saving somebody or clearing through a dungeon, your character will spontaneously die. I'm refering more to the 4th game on this one.

Your character is introduced as your average Joe, living a lonely life in a tiny suburban town
Most of the main characters live a normal life as a student at a high school until a certain event happens, just like stated in your description

From getting rid of annoying habits, to getting over fears. You can't do certain quests until you can control your character enough to "persuade" him to do so
In the newer Personas I think, the player will have to change his personality, whether that be courage, knowledge, or sociality.

Ah. That makes sense.

Needed quests would be doing things like bringing in the mail, calling to ask for a personal day and things that usually need to be done to progress during days. Personal quests are basically things your character wants to do, like make up a pot of coffee or turn on the lights.

Why the personal quests would be there is for the reason that you need a lot of tokens to get ahead.

The reason you just die at the end of the day is because of the tumor progressively getting worse to the point of it causing your death. All events happen in one day.

The main character here is a tall mildly obese man with brownish orange hair, blue eyes and pale skin. He's a pencil pusher who's portrayed as a person who's nothing really special.

Near the end of the game he's gotten over all of his fears to fight a tumor that's going to kill him.

I guess Persona and my idea are not that different, and I might even want to play persona, but that game had no way of inspiring this concept.

In the newer Personas I think, the player will have to change his personality, whether that be courage, knowledge, or sociality.

In this, your person has to overcome laziness and gluttony to focus on getting deeds done more. The harder the deed, the more your person has to care about it, and you have things like Effort, Self-motivation and energetic personality.

so this is a game?
Damn, id like to play this.

Mind you that this will be a small crappy demo of how I think the gist of movement and selection in the game will work. It will only include movement of character and object selection and is definitely not the full thing -- I'll need help from good graphic designers for that, since I'm just a novice.

I had trouble creating a freaking bed. ._.

Yes it's supposed to be a survival-psychological horror using quick scares designed to make you jump out of your chair.

I might help later as I am good at this kind of stuff.

Just expect weird artwork.

Sounds cool.  If it was created, I'd probably buy it.

It sounds a bit like Amnesia: The Dark Descent, though.
