Author Topic: Port Forwarding on a D-link 655  (Read 1944 times)

I'm trying to port forward for gmod, but I can't seem to log into the router page. The default is blank, but it's saying that it's incorrect. When I type anything, it adds three characters. Also, I'd need walked through this after I log in. Any help?

Make a lan server and use Hamachi.

try admin admin
or admin (blank)

Why does everyone love Hamachi so much?

It's quite the inconvenience.

He wants to port forward so he can host a web server, Hamachi doesn't have anything to do with that.

A google search said that that's for two computers, and LAN does that for me already, atleast for servers between me and my brother.

try admin admin
or admin (blank)
Blank was denied, and it added characters after I tried admin

I'll try it from my mom's computer, because that's where it's hooked up,and reset the passwords. I have no Idea how a router works anyways.

there should be a little reset button you push with a pen to reset the router, hold it for like 10 seconds.

Hamachi basically makes a fake LAN network that can be shared over the internet.  Kids like to use it to play demos of games that have LAN only multiplayer online.

the main purpose of hamachi is to play pirated multiplayer games with each other, when multiplay otherwise wouldnt be enabled without a legit owned key.

ugh google doesn't help.

What's wrong with Hamachi? It creates a safe network between and your bro without the actual need of another wire in your computer. Just make a lan server and tell your brother to connect to it.

I want more than just my bro, dude.

Will that make the network and/or the internet go down?

well yeah the net wont work for a while 60 seconds lol

Then tell your other friend to connect to you Via hamachi. It works up to 32 players I think. You'll be connected just like LAN.

I don't want to use hamachi.
I don't want to make my friends go through downloading unneeded stuff.

Will I need to remake the whole connection if I do reset it?

Fine, turn down something that's free and easy to use.

I'm out of the topic.

well resetting the router might mean having to set up all the other forwarded ports again
